Introduction of carbon black

Carbon black (carbon black), is a kind of amorphous carbon. Light, loose and very fine black powder, with a very large surface area, is the product of incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of carbon-containing substances (coal, natural gas, heavy oil, fuel oil, etc.) under the condition of insufficient air. Carbon black generally refers to carbon particles, generally due to insufficient combustion of organic matter, in which hydrogen and oxygen elements are converted into water, and carbon elements are not fully burned, they will break away from the molecules and form carbon black. The carbon black with almost all particle size range can be obtained by furnace black production process, and the particle size of the same kind of carbon black is not exactly the same, showing a particle size distribution range. Generally speaking, the particle size distribution of the varieties with finer particles is narrower. The finer the pigment black is, the more contact points there are between the carbon black aggregates, and as a result, the stronger the cohesion between them, when the pigment black is mixed into the material, that is, when the initial carbon black begins to be evenly distributed, the work to be done on the dispersion is great, in order to separate the carbon black particles. To achieve the highest blackness and coloring. There are two kinds of the density of carbon black. One is true density, that is, it is determined by the element and structure (or crystal structure) that makes up carbon black. Without a special description, the density of carbon black refers to the true density. The other is pour density or apparent density, which varies with the processing conditions of carbon black and needs to be measured frequently. The apparent density mainly provides the basis for the volume calculation of engineering equipment and containers such as packaging, storage, and transportation. The carbon black with small particle size and high structure has low pour density. The carbon black with small particles, high structure, pure surface, and large surface roughness has good electrical conductivity.
